Branches Detection System Details
I’m doing this Zealab project now and it’s honestly been a rollercoaster already! The mission? Build an device installed on greenhose inspection robots that can detect and classify overgrown plants automatically. Sounds straightforward right? HA. Famous last words.
The concept is actually simpler than my last robot car project. Just a multi-BUS structure with sensors figuring out how far stuff is, then driving motors to move away. In theory, piece of cake. In practice… well, let me tell you about my little adventure yesterday.
I’m building this thing and everything’s going okay until I realize that the screws don’t fit. Like, at all. Wrong size completely. And the installation is TOMORROW. Panic mode activated.
After some frantic searching I find this hardware store in the middle of nowhere, I took a bus then walked through roads with nothing but construction sites and empty fields. Felt like I was in some post-apocalyptic movie walking alone with dirt everywhere and weird machinery noises in the distance. Found the store (this tiny little place run by a grandpa who was having supper when I came in), grabbed what I needed, and raced back.
Exhausted? Yes. But also kinda hyped? It felt like a real adventure, the kind of thing that doesn’t happen when you just order stuff online. Sometimes you gotta earn your parts.
Anyway, screws acquired, robot assembled, ready for installation day… hopefully. 😅
Wish me luck!
